Our Top Priority: Puppy Well-being

Since 2007, the well-being and long-term security of our puppies have been the single most important priority here at Whiteduck Mountain Kennel. Our placement process is thorough and selective because we view puppy adoption as a commitment for life.

For this reason, we reserve the right to decline accepting a deposit if we determine that a prospective home may not be the right fit for our puppy. This includes situations where communication raises concerns about the puppy’s future care, or where interactions are inappropriate or disrespectful to our staff.

When an Agreement is Not in Place

When no deposit has been accepted and no deposit contract has been signed, there was never an agreement in place—and therefore no obligation for us to move forward with a sale.

We want to be clear: This is not a “Scam.” This is responsible breeding. Our priority is finding safe, suitable, and loving forever homes. We will only accept a deposit once we, and the prospective family, feel fully comfortable moving forward to the next step in the adoption process. We take great care in selecting the families who adopt from us, and we must be confident in the match before moving forward.

Our Non-Refundable Deposit Policy

When we do accept a deposit, it secures a specific puppy and requires months of communication, planning, and commitment from both parties.

As stated clearly on all of our advertisements and on our website, this deposit is non-refundable. The deposit confirms your serious commitment to the adoption and allows us to hold the puppy exclusively for you. This means we cease advertising that puppy and turn away other families who may have wanted that particular dog. The deposit is a commitment that compensates for the lost opportunity and effort involved in holding the puppy for you.

Our Commitment

In conclusion, puppies are not objects or commodities; they are sensitive, living beings who deserve nothing less than a safe, loving, and permanent home. The careful, rigorous nature of our adoption process reflects the depth of our care and the promise we make to every puppy we breed. We look forward to partnering with families who share this deep, lifelong commitment to their dog's health and happiness.
